Hey folks,

I am writing this to help the community which i benefited from drastically.
My company shut down. I started my job search for SDE 3 in India.
I was fortunate to get some offers. I interviewed in a timeline of 1.5 month. I gave 80+ interviews. ( Not to confuse with 80 Companies, each company has 5-6 rounds )
I joined Uber.

I'll share the interview structure for these.

Companies i got offer from:

Confluent:

Signed NDA Can't reveal exact questions.

1) Screening Round. Similar to validate Sudoku with some twist and followup.
2) DSA Medium.
3) DSA Medium - Hard : 2 questions
4) Design Round Standard Design
5) Hiring manager round.

Bitgo

Uber

1) DSA Screening round: 2 Medium-Hard DP questions
2) DSA Hard: Similar to calculator
3) LLD: Scheduler
4) Design: Zomato
5) Hiring manager call. 1 hour 45 mins.

Coupang

1) Total 3 problems:
  1 DSA : easy - find the biggest element with negative integer
  1 LLD: Breaker pattern to reduce load on our service
  1 DSA : medium max sum in contiguous array
2) Past work discussion + HLD: Ad click aggregator
3) Hiring Manager
4) Another Hiring manager. Asked tough questions. Very senior folks 20+ YOE.

In coupang Staff Level interview has 2 hiring manager rounds. For senior they have 1 HM and 1 Barraiser round.

Stripe

Signed NDA so can't disclose questions

1) Screening DSA
2) DSA
3) Hiring manager round
4) Bug Squash: They'll give a code base find bugs.
5) Design Round
6) Integration Round: Integrate different APIs to achieve some outcomes.

Stripe's interview the most fun for me and closely related to daily work.

Companies i was rejected from:

Rippling

2 DSA, 1 LLD, 1 HLD, 1 HM

Atlassian

2 DSA, 1 SD, 1 HM

Coinbase

2 DSA, 1 SD, 1 HM

For above 3 signed NDA so can't disclose questions.

Deliveroo

1) Take home assignment
2) Design Round Give out 6 million burger
3) Code round extensions to assignment submitted
4) HM round

Very strange that i was rejected. My rounds were super great.

Opendoor

1) Round 1 DSA: KV Store, KV Store with TTL, KV Store with commit rollback
2) LLD/DSA Excel Question, Implement Get, Set. With followup problem
3) System Design Round 1: Google calendar  
4) Hiring Manager
5) System Design using graphDB.

HR said I did clear all the rounds but I didn't get offer due to "team fitment".

Interestingly i had recieved offers from Rippling, Atlassian & Coinbase for SDE 2 roles in last 2 years.

Companies I opted out of process:

  • Docusign
  • Agoda
  • Prophecy.io
  • Many many more don't want to disclose.

My preparation:

  1. 200+ LC Medium+Hard
  2. 50+ Systed Design ( Alex xu, DDIA , Youtube and more )
  3. LLD: Job + Practice on own
  4. For concurrency i practiced heavily on my own. You can get top asked questions online.

Don't give up. Keep on working and you'll hit your targets eventually. RESLIENCEY is the key.
