Tredence came to our campus for the Analyst role recruitment. According to their JD, they required candidates who have strong foundation in Python and SQL and have knowledge of Machine Learning and AI stuffs. Though they did not strictly followed their own JD for shortlisting the final candidates. The whole process was done in offline mode. The whole process took 2 days, from PPT to final HR round.
Round 1 : Online Assessment
The online assessment round was conducted online but in offline mode in the campus Digital Library. Almost 400 candidates gave this round and almost 25-30 candidates were shortlisted for communication round based on the scores of this round. I don’t remember exactly but the platform used was HackerEarth for this round. The test consisted of several sections including Aptitude, English Grammar, Case Study and 1 coding questions. The time given was 2 hr. I think there were almost 30-35 MCQ questions based on Aptitude, English Grammar and other topics like basic CS fundamentals. And then there was one case study question and then there was 1 coding questions. Each section has its own marking scheme and also its own cutoff. DSA question was medium level LeetCode. Anyone who has solved some standard question sheet like Striver's would have done that problem. I do not remember exactly what was the problem, but it was not any standard problem but required a little bit thinking.
Round 2 : Communication Round
This round was conducted on Mettle platform. It consisted of 3-4 sections. Questions were like read the statement on screen, say something about your self for 1-2 minutes continuously, etc. After this round almost 5-6 candidates were eliminated and rest went for interviews.
Round 3 : Technical Round 1
Interviewer was very friendly. Asked about myself. Introduced himself. Asked question from SQL and DSA. DSA question was Coin Change problem from LeetCode. And SQL questions were a little bit tricky but if your basics are clear then you could have done that easily. Some candidates were asked about their internship and other side projects as well. Some candidates were asked questions on Linked List.
Round 4 : Technical Round 2
Interviewer was not so friendly but on a more strict side (he was I think MD at Tredence). Tough SQL questions and their implementations were asked. I was asked to also write the SQL queries. Was asked about COALESCE and other functions in SQL. Projects were asked in depth. Basically everything in your resume was asked about. For this round you need to have a good SQL knowledge and also review every thing you have written in your resume. Basic CS Fundamentals were also asked, mostly from DBMS. I was asked about ACID properties and Transactions, how are they done like what are the different states in a transaction. After this round almost 8 candidates were selected for HR round.
Round 5 : HR Round
Basic behavioural questions about yourself, hobbies, branch, major/minor project in college, etc. HR would tell you about the pay structure and all such stuffs. If he/she does not tell you about these things, then you should ask him/her about the same, it would show that you are interested in the company. She/He would ask you about your future goals, family background, etc. Almost everyone who got into this round were selected by the company.
Every round was elimination round. Even in HR round 2-3 candidates were eliminated.
Tips: Prepare SQL. Best resources are: Apna College SQL Lecture by Shrradha Khapda and LeetCode SQL 50. LeetCode SQL 50 is a must. Must know your projects in resume very well.
