Location: Seattle, WA.
Applied online and got a ping from recruiter that one of the hiring manager is interested.
Telephonic Round 1: This was with Hiring Manager, kind of cultural fit and work experience match round.
HR told me that feedback from HM was positive and would like to set up a technichal screen using Google Hangout(video conf).** All Interview rounds were panel: Meaning with Two Engineers.**
VC Tech Screen: LC Medium question not under the questions tagged twitter though. Classic Back tracking question, I completed coding and execution as well.
I believe more than solving problem in this round I asked lot of questions about the problem before starting to think of algorithm, I feel this was one of the biggest positive feedback I got from this round
HR was quick and got back to me that they are interested to take this further to a Virtual Onsite which consisted three rounds:
VC Round 1: Coding Screen, another LC Medium question but I couldn't think of efficient solution and also I started thinking of the algo without asking enough questions in this round. But interviewer helped me with the logic and I could improvise and was able to code but not able to execute.
VC Round 2: System Design, using Google JAM board, I suggest people to try out google JAM baord before this interview. Questions was to design a part of Twitter subsystem, question was asked from one of their upcoming project.
VC Round 3: Behavioral, 3 stops in the resume asking about my Low points and Strengths and etc.
I had good experience with Panel interviews since if one interviewer is biased or pulling you one way the other interviewer can help. Overall I felt my interview went Okay, but got I didn;t made it.
Feedback from SystemDesign that I didn't ask enough questions. :), they said we would've offered you SWE2 but we don't have any SWE2 open now. Will check with you in 6 months.
