Experience - 2.5 years, Currently pursuing MS in CS in top 50 school

Recruiter reached out to me a month after the online application and had a brief call to see if I am interested and would I be a good fit.

Round 1 - Phone Screen (30 mins)

  • Behavioral + Technical questions based on my resume
  • Straight forward interview, cleared it easily and was scheduled for next round soon

Round 2 - Technical Interview (1 hr)

  • Questions from my resume & project (explain 1 project)
  • System Design -> Design streaming service (25 mins)
  • Coding Quesion -> Some tree based question (used recurrsion) (25 mins)
  • Cleared the round and was scheduled for virtual onsite after 2 weeks

Round 3 - Onsite Interview I (45 mins)

Round 4 - Onsite Interview II (45 mins)

  • Very vague interview and interviewer was having lunch while asking questions
  • Grilled me on Java and web applications
  • I bielieve this interview was the main reason for rejection

Round 5 - Onsite Interview III (45 mins)

  • Again a vague interview
  • Grilled me on loggers, JVM, Java architechture, masking, etc.
  • Asked me to use google search to find techniques/solutions for open ended questions
  • Describe project in detail
  • Questions based on internship

Round 6 - Onsite Interview IV (45 mins)

I felt that I was not up to the mark during the virtual onsite interviews and have only myself to blame for not doing well. Got rejection mail in a week. Missed out on a good opportunity :(

Any suggestions on what should I work to improve my interviewing skills? I somehow scramble in the inteviews inspite of the fact that I know the solution to those problems.
