Experience: 4+ years in a startup

Got interview call from recruitment agency.
Interview team visited my city and all rounds were conducted on same day, for Banglore location.

Round 1:

Round 2:

  • Again went over previous project details first.
  • DS: Sort a list of strings. Each string could be alphanumeric and case sensitive. There are some custom rules while sorting. Ex: Alphabets have precedence over numbers, capital letters have precedence over small letters.

Round 3: (Managerial Round)

  • In depth discussion about current project and role. Topics discussed: iSCSI protocol, RPC mechanisms, Caching algorithms, few more components in my current project.
  • Different methods to sort a very large file and their comparison.
  • Design of a memory management system. Focus on low level data structures required in system.

Round 4: (Directorial Round)

  • Again In depth discussion about current project and role.
  • Questions on Linked Lists

Was immediately informed after the Directorial Round that I'm selected :)

Interview Tips:

  • They were specially concerned with my approach and always had a focus on corner cases.
  • Use figures while explaining any solution, did it with almost each and every question.
  • Discussions regarding my current projects were extensive and I think I cleared the managerial round solely on that. So would definitely recommend to brush up on stuff you have earlier worked on.
  • Just be confident and answer things your way. Say no to the things that you dont know about.

I would like to thank the whole Leetcode community. All the posts at the forum made me realise that I need to step up my preparation and I would recommend all to spend more time reading past interview experiences to get some more prespective.

As an end note, I would like to tell everyone that I spent around 6 months preparing and appearing for interviews. I was rejected by 17 companies before finally being selected by Adobe.
Keep on working everyone, you have to put in the hours and it will finally get you the results you aspire.

All the best!
