Interview process

Recruter emailed and coordinated the first phone interview.
Phone interview:
	Brief introduction of each other.
High level tech questions on java and spring
	Two questions:
		1. All combinations of number [1,2,3] should return [1],[2],[3],[1,2],[2,3],[1,2,3]
		2. Arrange 1.s in an array so that you are maximizing the number of 1s in the array and no 1 is adjacent to each other after the placement
eg: given [1,0,0,0,1] insert 1 at pos 2. I think it is an easier

Got result the next day asking for dates for the Face to face.

Was supposed to go for FT interview on Monday, due to corona virus they cancelled and scheduled for video interview.

Total 5 people interviewed for 45 minutes each. Including the hiring manager.

  1. First round brief introduction of ourselves, things that we are working on right now etc.. a 2-sum program. With duplicate numbers allowed, un sorted and if there are two numbers 1,1,3,3 which match target 4, then include all that match.
  2. Hiring manager round. Introductions, behavioral, asked a system design question and some high level tech questions. I was not prepared for the system design properly as I was only concentrating on the algorithmes in the recent past, i failed here. There were no problems this round.
  3. Another developer round, asked me to code a design pattern. I did, and she followed up with rude questions on why i followed that approach, it was a design pattern and how come you expect it to be in a certain way you expect? She had a total attitude as if she is right. Algorithms, 1. maximum sub array with unique chars. 2. Find duplicate chars in a string.
  4. Parking lot design and a lot of questions, the interviewer was very cool and very good here.
  5. 5th Round - Introductions, high level questions, algorithm about prediction of a game that you can win, i implemented Trie approach

Overal i did well in the algorithms, i think i should concentrate on the technical aspects also, i totatlly fumbled in the system design part as I did not practice it with anyone. Even though I studied in Grocking my nervousness caused me to fail in the system design part.

Any suggestions on how to approach the system design questions will help.
