I was interviewed for Maersk ML engineer role. It was very surprising because not many companies hire freshers for a ML role.
The pre-placement talk was good, HR's communication skills werent upto the mark.
TECHNICAL ROUND
My technical round consisted of some questions based on my resume, basic ML concepts and I was also asked to explain any of my favourite Neural Newtork Architecture.
I chose CNN and explained it to the best of my knowledge.
The interviewer was happy with the explanations and I managed to answers all his cross questions.
He also asked me how I approach some basic ML problems during development. He later on asked about problem solving and gave a Leetcode Medium sliding window question.
I was very satisfied with my technical round experience.
MANAGERIAL ROUND
I was called for a managerial round which literally counldnt have gone any worse.
The interviewer munched on snacks and soft drinks when talking with me which explains a lot about him.
He gave me 2 trivial questions.
I answered both but he didnt seem satisfied. Infact midway of my explanation, he asked me to go. It seemed rude and unprofessional but I didnt bother taking a stand.
The interviewer didnt even look at my resume once and continued having some snacks.
HR ROUND
Didnt get selected for HR round as expected. Funnily the final shortlisted candidates were all the ones interviewed by the snack eater.
I wanted this role because of the company's reliability on ML (world's largest supply chain/ shipping company). It probably wasn't meant for me :)
Have a good day!
