YOE: 6 months (USA) and 3 yr(Home Country)
Location: Redmond, WA
Position: SDE 1/ SDE2

All the round were conducted by the Hiring Manager having more than 10+ years of experience. Also,
in MSFT for hiring event no System Design question (this was said to me by one of the interviewer). After each round the interviewer exchange notes (give feeback) to the next interviewer and this cycle goes on still your last interview for the day.

On-site rounds:
Round 1(45 minutes): Old man, his question was the hardest. Constraint to use only array and no additional memory for designing the algorithm

  • 2 Behavioral questions
  • Algorithm (Cant find the question online )(BruteForce) (Optimal-with TreeMap)

Round 2(45 minutes):

Round 3(45 minutes):

Round 4(45 minutes):

  • 2 Bheavioral questions
  • https://leetcode.com/problems/combination-sum-ii/ (inputs list for the questions was similar to this)
  • https://leetcode.com/problems/combination-sum-iii/ (Output was expected like this questions)
  • I already know the solution for this question.
  • This interviewer was a lady and rude. (qouting A women is always jealous of another women). Once I completed the code she said straight on my face that I already know the solution and questioned the solution of the previous rounds as well . Facepalm moment. I controlled myself to answer not her back or cross question.

Post Interview:
After one and half day, my application was moved to Archived with a "NOT SELECTED" status.

Conclusion:

From past one year I had interviewed at over 10 places Amazon (2 times), Microsoft(3 times), Morgan Stanley, Remitly and couple of other startups. I reached final stages but got rejected every single time.
Currently I am working as SDE1 in well established company with a talented and harworking team with a not so decent pay.

This is my last onsite interview. I am tried and exhausted or maybe I dont have enough talent. Moreover, dont wanna fly in and out of different airports due to Coronovirus outbreak.
