I signed NDA, so, please don't ask me for questions. I will keep my post about my experience and preparing for the interview.
Phone Interview:
Like most other company it starts with setting up phone interview. What's different is that recruiter will ask for your interests and tell you about open positions and you can select 2 of them. I got through one of the phone screens but recruiter then presented more positions to get me onsite interview with 2 separate teams. I got through another phone screen and I will have to say there is no fix criteria for the question. Interviewer has independence to ask whatever they want and the two phone screens I got through were not exactly from LC but were similar concept to the problems on LC. I would rate them medium/medium-hard level. Interviewer could ask lots of behavioral questions and things on your resume so be prepared for that.
I then scheduled 2 day interview (1 team/day). Both teams provide independent decision and this again is unique thing about Microsoft.
Onsite Interviews:
At Microsoft there is no set pattern for the interview. Some of my interviews over 2 days were mixture of system design and coding. Couple of my interviews were pure coding and couple of them were mix of OOP concepts and coding. Every interviewer will ask behavioral question and interviews are hour long so there is plenty of time for everything.
Preparing for interviews:
One thing I want to stress on is to schedule your onsite in such a way that you have enough time to get 100% rested. I reached pretty late on the night before my interview and also decided to revise few things before going to sleep. I couldn't get enough sleep and on my day 1 I was making silly mistakes and did not get offer from day 1.
After that I made sure that I was well rested for day 2. I was able to optimally solve all the problems and all the interviewers were very happy with my answers. In the end I got to meet the director and he told me that I should expect an offer soon.
Other tips/thoughts:
levels.fyi provides pretty good idea on compensation. I have signed NDA and will not share my offer details.
