Deloitte | Analyst-Trainee | Dec 2023

Deloitte conducted an off-campus opportunity. It aims to hire from the 'Open Talent Network 3.0' (OTN), a platform where freshers nationwide can showcase their skills and join the team at Risk & Financial Advisory in the US-India Offices (USI). Students selected will undergo a six-month in-person boot camp, focusing on cybersecurity. Upon successfully completing the boot camp and passing the final assessment, selected candidates will receive an offer from Deloitte USI.

The hiring process is divided into 5 parts:

  1. Registration
  2. Shortlisting (Generally Resume Shortlisting)
  3. Online Assessment
  4. Interview (Technical + HR)
  5. Result Declaration

Deloitte used the Hire Pro platform for assessment. I took the test on 29th October.
The exam pattern (90 minutes) included:

  • 10 questions - English
  • 12 questions - Reasoning & Quant
  • 30 questions - Technical MCQ
  • 2 questions - Coding Questions (Easy level)

On 9th November, I got shortlisted for an interview for the Analyst Trainee profile based on my Open Talent Network’s Proctored Online Assessment scores.

My interview slot was confirmed for 13th November 2023 at 11:30 AM.

During the 30-minute interview round:

  • I introduced myself
  • Discussed my preferred programming language (I chose C++)
    ->Technical questions asked:
  • What is assert keyword ?
  • Difference between C and C++
  • Compare Object-oriented programming to Procedural programming
  • Shared details about one of the projects from my resume, including the tech stack used and its functionality
  • Leadership skills

Result:
On 12th December, I was informed that my profile would not proceed further as I did not clear the Open Talent Network 3.0 interview round.

Rejection reason (my opinion):
As it was my first interview, I stumbled, although I remained confident. I was unable to answer one technical question and did not articulate my leadership skills effectively.
