MY BACKGROUND:
Education: Mechanical Engineering from a Tier 3/4 college
Year of passing: 2021
Current company: A large service-based MNC
Designation: Software Engineer (mostly worked on low-code platform)
YOE: 2.3 years
Reason for change: For Java/JS/Python/Go/C++ based tech stack as low-code platforms are not much used in PBCs and for better compensation.
INTERVIEW PROCESS:
Application source: Applied on their career site without any referral.
Role: Software Engineer (Java) (not sure whether it was SW-1 or SW-2)
OA:
2 medium questions were asked which was needed to be solved in 1 hr.
I solved both the questions. Then after a week I got a call from the HR and she scheduled all the 3 virtual rounds on the same day back to back with 15 mins break between each round.
All the rounds were of 45 mins.
There were 8-10 candidates in the same zoom call and the HR would put us into breakout rooms with the interviewers for each round.
Round 1: Code pair round
Q1 - Given a piece of code and was asked to give some suggestions to enhance it. It was sort of a code review task.
Q2 - Print pairs with minimum difference in an array
Round 2: Design pair round
Convert a Monolithic shopping appilication to a Microservice. Was not asked to code, just discussion using block diagrams on hackerrank.
Round 3: Cultural fit round
Current project discussion and typical HR, situation based questions were asked like about current project, team, any argument with manager, any leadership skills, any argument with team mates, how did you solve difficult situations/bugs, any unique solution did you come up with etc.,
VERDICT: After several follow-ups for 3 weeks, the recruiter finally called and said that even though the result was positive, they do not have positions to fill currently and they would get back to me if there is a requirement.
I mean, seriously???!! No comments, WTF is this?? 😑😑🤐🫡
