Little background about myself: I am from a non circuital branch and have never done competitive coding. Back in my college days, never had a mindset of cracking such a big company but I was interested in development since the beginning. Things changed when I got laid off and I started preparing, I got offers from early stage startups and other companies which paid quite less, I rejected all the offers and focused on upskilling and finally got a opportunity with Walmart.

Online Assessment:
Applied through referral and after two months got the OA link.
There were two sections, first section of 30 minutes had 25 MCQs from CS fundamentals like SOLID, OOPS, DBMS, OS, CN, Data Structures etc. The second section of 40 minutes consisted of 2 DSA problems-

  1. Count the number of elements in a given array that are power of 2 also calculate their sum.
  2. It was based on 2D matrix, asked to perform some row and column operations and then find the sum of elements with preceding zero.

Online Interviews:
Technical Interview 1: (1.25 Hours)

  1. Longest Palindromic Substring - https://leetcode.com/problems/longest-palindromic-substring/description/
  2. Reverse a Linked List - https://leetcode.com/problems/reverse-linked-list/description/
    Asked me to write psuedo code and explain using a dry run.
  3. A question on SQL to find latest entry by date for each user from a log.

Technical Interview 2: (1.25 Hours)

  1. Explain the flow of your project, what features you implemented.
  2. Then he asked me to write a working Java code for input as a string-

    Task was to find the most visited webpage and the country with max searches.
    Output-
    Items India
    (Initially got some errors but finally got the output)
  3. After I got the above code running interviewer asked , what all improvements can be made to the code.

Hiring Manager Round: (40 Mins)
This round started with my previous work ex. and what I did there then behavioural, situational and HR questions.

Tech interviews were held on same day and HM round after 1 day, got offer confimartion mail on same day itself and after 2 weeks received the Offer Letter.
