Interview Experience/ Timeline
Ques-From when and where did you start applying for positions & how long it took for them to get back to you?
Ans-I applied for this position through a coding challenge on Hackerearth(https://www.hackerearth.com/challenges/hiring/) in first half of August 2018. I was a 2 hour long contest having 2 questions based on Data Structures and Algorithms, and 1 question based on JSP. The results of this test were declared after 10-15 days and then the HR connected with me to schedule the interviews.
Ques-How much time did you allocate from daily life to prepare for these interview?
Ans-Since I was preparing for campus placements at that time, so I used to practice problems on Data Structures and Algorithms on Leetcode for around 2-3 hours daily. Apart from this, I used to study conceptual topics of other important subjects, including OS and networking on GeeksForGeeks(https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/interview-preparation-for-software-developer/).
Ques-How long did the actual interview process take?
Ans-The whole interview process took around a month. There were 3 rounds of interviews. First two were online, and the final one was face-to-face with a Director of American Express. The level of difficulty was medium. Initial rounds were focused on Data Structures and programming fundamentals. Later rounds were more focused on the skills and previous experiences I’ve mentioned in my resume, and the projects I’ve worked on.
Ques-How long did it take for you to hear back the results from these positions?
Ans-It took around 3-4 weeks after the final round of interview to hear back the results for this position. They declared the results in the first half of October and started the pre-onboarding process. After all the formalities, I finally received my offer letter in the later half of December.

Ques-What is your thoughts of this overall interview process?
Ans-Overall, the interview process was good. They thoroughly test you on different aspects required for the position. The HR were constantly in contact with me all the time to answer my queries. The only downside which I can mention is that the whole process was a bit slow. It took more time than what I was expecting.
