(I read a intimidating post on Blind and first thing I decided to do was to come here and pen down my thoughts).
I just now read a post on Blind in which a 32 year old engineer working at Amazon, having a stellar compensation had mentioned that his doctor has told him that he is having terminal cancer and is left with few weeks to live.
Hi folks,
This post might not give you any interview experience or promotion tips but might give you a very very important perspective of life.
I had been frustrated from last few months because my current workplace is extremely toxic and was not able to crack interviews as well for a switch. I work for 12 hours a day minimum. In a nutshell, totally fucked up professional life.
But the moment I saw that Blind post, the first thought that I had was, even if I achieve all that I want but something like that guy happens to me, what will I do with all those achievements ?
I know nowadays, the buzz is just about tech. Making a career in tech, progressing the ladder, 'making an impact' this that.
I am not saying that all of this is wrong or something but what I feel is its okay to slow down and breathe.
In my opinion, if you are earning enough to meet your basic needs and have a healthy body, just be happy and live your life. No point of getting into this rat race because at the end its all going to be zero.
Please don't worry about cracking a FAANG or a high paying job, dont worry about getting your next promotion or hike. Its ok if you don't have enough to go on a foreign trip and post about it on social media, its okay if you don't have enough to eat at a costly restaurant, its okay if you don't have enough to buy those costly jordans.
Till the time you have your stomach filled and a healthy mind and body (believe me, even this is a dream for billions!), just be happy and content.
P.S. - Sorry for this type of post but I am just sharing my thoughts. Can be right, can be wrong but I think for me, this way of life is the best to have a happy life.
