It was complete remote opportunity.
OA:
Taken by outsourcer
- Computer science knowledge - Was asked to choose any 2 topics out of the given 5 topics.
5-6 questions for 5-10mins on the selected topics.
Post that, moved to coding challenge
Aim is to solve atleast 2 problems with optimised approach and passing the given test cases. Time management is the key.
Questions were based on strings which are easy-medium level.
Was able to solve 1 problem fully and given pseudo code for the 2nd one. Spent so much time on computer science knowledge.
Couldn't clear it. They gave option to give the test again. Opted for it.
Interview pattern was the same as above. But, moved quickly this time.
Solved 2 problems fully and gave pseudo code for the 3rd question. Again, all questions were based on strings.
After 3-4 days, got call for scheduling further rounds.
Round 1: (coding)
- Minimum sum path in a tree
- Converted tree to DAG, minimum sum path for DAG.
Discussion went from brute force approach to optimised approach.
Was asked to code the function for optimal approach.
Was asked a lot on time and space complexity in detail.
Round 2: (HLD)
Design reviews section in the indeed site. We collaborated on g-drawings.
user can filter based on company, role and location.
Went through functional and non-functional requirements, traffic and storage estimates.
Then to high level design where most time was spent.
Was asked a lot of questions on the choices taken like database, caching policies, pagination etc.
Both rounds went well and got positive feedback from the recruiter and interviewers(requested feedback at the end of each round). Was waiting for scheduling of further rounds.
Never heard back from the recruiter about further rounds or rejection mail.
