Location: Bengaluru
Date Of Interviews: 20-30th December 2023
Recruiter reached out on LinkedIn. I was told that there will be 3 rounds. 1 DSA round + 1 LLD round + 1 Culture fit/Hiring Manager round.
Round 0 : OA : 2 easy - medium questions. A variation of House Robber Problem.
Round 1: 2 DSA medium-hard question. Interviewer was good. I was not able to solve the first question at first, so he let me take up the second question in the middle. I returned back to the first problem and was able to solve both of them correctly. I was supposed to code and test the code on leetcode directly.
Q1 : https://leetcode.com/problems/binary-tree-maximum-path-sum/
Q2 : https://leetcode.com/problems/jump-game-ii/
Round 2: This was supposed to be an LLD round. I was pretty confident about LLD due to my experience and focused on brushing up design patterns and practicing LLD problems for the upcoming days. However, to my surprise, the interviewer threw a hard DP problem on me. After around 30 mins of discussion, I was able to point out cases and how we would approach the problem and the choices we have to make in every case. But the interviewer was not satisfied. Since this is a hard problem, I asked him if I can code parts of my algorithm, for his better understanding or maybe write pseudocode. But the interviewer wanted me to dry run cases first. I did dry run a couple of cases for him with the correct output, but he still didn't understand how the algorithm is working. Eventually, we were not able to write code at all. We finished with a few questions about Winzo from my side, but I was thoroughly dissappointed with the interview.
Q: https://leetcode.com/problems/regular-expression-matching/
Received rejection mail after this round.
Views: I found the interviews fairly challenging. Although I was able to solve the asked problems, there was a slight communication gap in the 2nd round due to which I was not able to get through.
As far as my discussion with the interviewers, work life balance is a little iffy in Winzo. However, the work is quite challenging and fulfilling, and they pay really well. If you're comfortable with the location and demading work, Winzo Games is a good option.
