There are recent mass hiring and driving event going on for the Salesforce.

I have seen there are multiple folks in my connection who got the interview calls and even offer letters now.

Please do not join, this is just a way to do a mass layoff.
The Salesforce wants to layoff the PIPed employee but can't due to strict labour law and other repercussion.

Salesforce will hire you and will lay you off in next few months.

If you know someone in the salesforce, talk to them they will tell you the story going in their cloud.
Also you can prove by checking following things

Are they giving you any buyout? like pending stocks vesting, annual/perf bonus?
Are they allowing you a short notice period (they really need you) or they are giving you a long notice period benefit like 90 days so that they will have to pay you less before laying off.
Are they giving any joining bonus? If no, then think why?
Are they negotiating hard for hiring you? Are they giving you a low comp so that they can hire more folks?
Last but not the least, ask yourself how was your interviews? Did they really tested you enough before paying such compensation? Compare the interview process with other companies who take such rounds like Amazon, Google, Microsoft etc.
