**Current Status**: MEng Student in Computer Science and Engineering\n**Postion**: Forward Deployed Software Engineering Intern @ Palantir, London\n**Location**: London, UK\n**Date**: November 2019\n\nI was expected to have 3 technical interviews: debugging, coding and system design. All interviews included some talking about the interviewer and my experience for around 15 minutes each time and then 40-45 minutes of the actual technical part.\n\n*Coding interview:* \nWar (card game) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_(card_game) with n players and 3 cards down during war\nPerformed ok, but didn\'t finish all the helping functions\n\n*System design:* \nBuild an app using ingredients to create and generate recipes. Also should include the part of booking cooks. Needed to code the main function of selecting the possible recipes.\n\n*Debugging:*\nSimple broken BFS based on finding in first round who owns some off-shore companies and the second part how many shares of each company. Bonus question: what to do when there are cycles.\n\nAfter the 3 interviews we had a presentation about the company, their products and an office tour, which is pretty cozy and with a lot of facilities. Then we were supposed to end and head home. My handler came to me told to take all the affairs and took me to another room where said I\'m going to have a 4th surprise interview with the hiring manager. Then the hiring manager with someone from HR joined in the room.\n\n*Bonus un-planned 4th interview:*\nWe spent around 20 minutes talking about his job and experience and around 5 minutes about my experience and expectations. Then another ~30 minutes on a technical question. I don\'t remember the actual formulation, but the answer included 3 hash-maps and 2 imbricated BFSs. I saw the solution after the 1st hint but couldn\'t normally code it and then we got to it only with a lot of hints from the manager, so I think that\'s where I screwed up.\n\n*Conclusion:*\nA nice experience, but stressing one due to almost no break between the first 3 interviews. Also, it\'s tough to get back in shape after being told for 1 hour that it\'s over for today and then getting another technical interview. I\'d still recommend going for it, knowing now that you can have a surprise 4th interview.\n\n**Edit**\nFirst 3 were strong-hire/hire and 4th one was reject, therefore per total reject.
