Position: SWE Intern at Microsoft
Location: Redmond

I had applied to Microsoft for SWE Intern through a friends referral in September.
Around 1st week of October I recieved a mail to schedule a first round phone internview. ( The mail said it will be behavioral internview.
The interviewer discussed my resume and the projects I did. Asked questions such as why Computer Science, why Microsoft etc etc. He ended the internview by asking me the difference between threads and process, how would you explain reccursion to someone.

Post this internview, the next day I recieved an email that Microsoft has invited me onsite for final rounds.

On the day of the onsite interview I had 2 rounds

• Round 1 - Discussed my resume and behavioral questions such as how do you resolve a conflict. Followed by a technical question which was an LC Easy.
• Round 2- Started by discussing my resume and followed by a technical question which was LC ( easy - medium )
  Both the questions were a white board discussion.

Cannot disclose questions cuz NDA ( sorry :) )

I would say it was a great overall expierience, Microsoft takes care of everything, from booking flight tickets to hotels and informs you about the schedules well in advance. The interviewers were really nice and take genuine interest in what you are talking and help you with your technical questions.

My prep - Started with internviewBit sections, they have a neat section in place where they make you practice question to cover the given topic ( like reccursion, trees , stack/queues etc ) also, thanks to the gamification I tried to do questions myself rather than looking at the solution if I got stuck.
Then I started with Leetcode ( 302 questions done so far, of which 55% medium , 35% easy, 10% hard )

I had gone through frequently asked questions at Msft before the interview although both the questions asked were not in the list. ( But having done those questions you have a fair idea of how to approach such questions ).
