Took salesforce interview 14th oct onsite; process took around 1.5 months. Total exp: 8 YOE

Round 1: [Did very well in this]

• print all paths from top-left corner to bottom-right corner.
• evaluate expression; calculator-III

Round 2 [HLD] [Very well]:

• Design rule engine for banking system; like if salary is X and account is 10 years old; user should be given Z % discount.
• Designed very well. It would've been STRONG HIRE.

Round 3 [HM] [Very well]:

• Technical discussion on my past project. He asked me to modify some things. did well.
• Then design system for displaying match score like Hot Star. [Did that well]
• Other typical questions.

HR called and told I cleared SMTS. But then my comp was higher than their band. So she told me she'll process for LMTS.

Final Round for LMTS [LLD]:

• Design stackoverflow
• He asked me to design schema for it; did very well.
• wrote code for it as well.
• Then he asked about search functionality; explained very well what all we need to keep in mind.
• He wanted me to write code for how elastic search does the searching; in particular what data structure it uses [LSM tree etc.] I did not do it well here.

Aparently, it's all luck. My final interview at least should've been a hire. Did very good overall. But she told me its no - go for LMTS. Well tough luck.

Then she also told me ... there is another opening for LMTS. She'll process my profile for that. But I want to take a moment and take this rejection as a rejection and move on. No point clinging to it; it's stupid. So moving on.
