Hello everyone, I'm excited to share my interview experience at Blue Yonder (On Campus).

Online Assessment

  • 45 MCQs - Covered topics like English, general problem-solving, coding aptitude (output-based questions), computer networks, and operating systems.

  • 2 Coding Questions

    • Calculate the reverse of the sum of the product of the elements of the middle row and middle column in a square matrix (assuming the matrix size is always odd).
    • Find the Number of Couples
      • The heights and names of N people are given in two separate N sized arrays and you have to pair them only if the difference between the two is less than or equal to 2. The pairing should happen for the shortest couple . Print the paired couples (specify the name of the shorter person first)

Note : 26 candidates moved to the next round

Round 1 - Technical

*Timing : 40 mins

  • Asked me to introduce myself
  • Asked about my leetcode profile
    (My profile - Leetcode : 472 (E : 156, M : 260, H : 56))
  • Given two nodes of a binary tree , return whether the both of them are cousins
    (Explained the brute force approach and then optimized when aksed to)
  • Asked me what is my favourite sort (I answered Merge Sort) and then aksed me to code and dry run quick sort
  • Asked what is the time complexity of quick sort when the array is already sorted
  • Asked what Sorting Algo would you use when the array might be already sorted - can we achieve a Time Complexity of O(N) in the best case ( I answered modified bubble sort)
  • Asked me to explain my projects in my resume in detail and asked questions from it
  • Asked about my role in the internship I mentioned on my resume.
    (Note : Know your Implementaion Details)
  • Asked what would be my key takeaways from the round (Talked about my values)
  • And I asked some questions to him
  • Note - Make sure the problem statement is clear for the DSA questions and ask questions to clarify any doubts regarding the question

Round 2 - Technical

*Timing - 30 mins

  • Asked me to introduce myself
  • Asked the difference between Array and Linked List
  • Asked me to code Merge Sort and explain
  • Asked me to explain all the projects and asked questions from it
  • Asked me about my primary programming language for competitive coding.
  • Asked a probability based question -
    • If there are 10 pairs of white socks and 10 pairs of black socks , what is the minimum number of times a person has to pick (randomly) to ensure that he/she has 2 black socks
      (Answer - 22 - Explained the best,average and worst case)
  • Note - Be confident and try to speak more
  • Asked some questions to him - (He spoke to me in a friendly manner)

Round 3 - HR

*Timing - 40 mins

  • Asked me to introduce myself
  • I was asked to provide three reasons why they should hire me.
  • If God gives you a chance to change your past, what would you do ?
  • What are the two things you are proud of ?
  • Asked about my family
  • Asked what have I done for the society ( since I talked about making a positive impact in the society )
  • Asked about my Internships and the challenges faced
  • Asked what would your friends say about you - one positive and negative thing
  • Asked about the previous interviews
    (Wells Fargo - Rejected after 2nd Tech round
    Infibeam Avenues - Rejected after the Tech round)
  • Asked what super power would I like to have
  • Do you have any plans for higher studies (Say NO)
  • What is one thing you have done innovatively
  • Can you tell me a instance where you started working for achieving a goal and then achived something else
  • Note - This round basically tests your communication and thinking skills

Final Verdict

Selected for 6 Months Internship and FTE

  • Don't let rejections bring you down. Success isn't measured by how many times you stumble, but by how often you find the strength to get back up. Put in the hard work, and leave the rest to God.
