Hey Everyone,

Below is my interview experience for the Role of SWE Intern at LinkedIn for the Summer of 2024. It was an on-campus opportunity.

Online Assessment: The test was conducted on Hackerrank for a duration of 90 minutes and three coding questions were asked , each of difficulty level medium. Questions were based primarily on strings, hashing and Binary search.

Technical Round:
Was given two DSA questions .
First question was based on Strings and Hashing (of Difficulty Medium) , whereas the second question was based on Binary Trees (of Difficulty Hard).

HR Round:
Discussed about Resume, projects and situation based questions were asked.

Verdict : Selected

I have shared info about compensation and other details on this post, do give it a read: https://leetcode.com/discuss/compensation/3971680/LinkedIn-or-SWE-Intern-or-Bangalore-or-Selected

Tips:

  • Give contests regularly on LeetCode and other platforms to get used to solving problems under time constraints, which would be super helpful to clear the Online Coding rounds.
  • Practice questions of different patterns on LeetCode to be familiar with the questions asked in the Technical Rounds
  • Have good knowledge of the Computer Science Fundamentals like DBMS, OOPS and OS.
  • Verbalize your thoughts to the interviewer while thinking about the approach to the problem given to you in the Technical Rounds
  • Be calm and confident while responding to the questions asked in the interview
  • Be thorough with explaining the Time and Space Complexity of the solution, which was checked primarily in the LinkedIn interviews.
  • Have good knowledge of your projects (Like the database structure, tech stack used etc.) and everything you've put up on your resume, as you'll be questioned on them.

Thank you everyone, hope you liked this post, All the very best to those preparing for your internships and placements !
