Applied through referral for SDE2 role, got a call from recruiter for online assessment finished it in weekend. Got a call after few days that I have completed the assessment and someone from interview team will reach out to me soon.

A new recruiter reached out to me for scheduling interviews, I was about to give her my slots before that I wanted to confirm if it is for SDE2, She denied that I didnt apply for SDE2, but it was clear in the portal that I applied for it. Then some other recruiter called me she asked if i am not interested to interview at amazon, I told her that I applied for SDE2 and you are considering me for SDE1, Then she told me to make some changes in my CV, which I did and sent her. After that she didnt reply for a month.
During that time many recruiters reached out to me for SDE2 role, for which I agreed but they told that my earlier application was pending. So I reached out to the previous recruiter and explained her the situation, after some days she told that the hiring manager agreed to try on me for SDE2.
She scheduled first round as HM, the later two were Coding and Design. I already knew that since the first round is HM, it is no more then ghosting or wasting my time.
I gave the first round, the HM had no technical knowledge or background which I found via linkedin. To give you an idea, I told that I had to implement chat system in one of my projects, she told it is a small UI change. 🙈

Now coming on to the next round, the interviewer didn't join when I called HR she told there are some issues at his end, now coming on to the third round, the interviewer again didn't join, this time HR was clueless. So, this is how they wasted my complete day without any apologies or regrets. My interpretation for this is that the HM/HR informed the interviewers not to join the interviews. She could have informed me directly without wasting my time. I was even not informed prior like HM will be an elimination round, so there should have been all the 3 rounds conducted.

When I tried reaching HR the next day, she told that the HM was not impressed with my projects, I was like seriously? and told that she will schedule next rounds soon. But I didn't get any mail for schedule, I tried contacting her back, but she dropped my calls.

This whole experience shows the culture at amazon, the kind of managers the SDEs work under. God bless all the SDEs that work under her. I was more disappointed because due to the bad HM, I lost opportunity to interview with some other teams.
