Position (Applying for) : Backend Developer [15 LPA]
Location : Bengaluru.
Date : May 11, 2022.
1st Round : Assessment on DoSelect which had some Aptitude and Programming MCQs(48 approx) + 2 Programming questions. (Total 50 Questions Max)
Difficulty Level : Medium .
Programming questions test your problem solving skills. If you know how and when to use Data Structures, You can easily solve.
Shortlisted and and got the interview opportunity.
2nd Round on 12th May (30 mins): Interviewer was friendly, Started with his introduction and asked me to introduce myself. Then he asked me about basics of C/C++(OOPS,Virtual Functions,Interface etc) and few easy programming questions.
Difficulty Level : Easy .
Programming Questions
1.Implement String Reverse function(strrev).
- Given two Strings. Return true if they are anagrams else return false.
I'd answered them with Brute Force and Optimised Solution with time and space complexity.
3rd Round on 13th May(1 hr 15 mins) : This round's interviewer was more friendly and was from IIT Delhi. He was very happy to interview me and discuss with me. Started with introduction and basics again(Data Structures and Algorithms). I told him that I'm good at C++. So he asked about OOPS concepts and STL.
Linked List basic operations and Programming questions like Finding Intersecting Node of 2 linked list and Array based question Given array and sum, return indexes of elements that add upto a given sum.
From Bruteforce to optimised, we discussed 3-5 approaches (Sliding window, 2 Pointer , Using Map STL) for each problem with Time and Space Complexity..After this he asked me about Graph and Trees Basics. And then Binary Search Tree applications,Operations.
Difficulty Level : Medium
4th Round on 16th May(1 hr ) : Interviewer had around 12+ years experience. Without wasting any time he asked me about my current company project and what my contribution is. I was able to explain the component/module i was working on. He understood the product quickly. Regarding my code contribution, I did not write much code ,because all features have been implemented for this component and very less amount of code i'd changed whenever defects arised. He was not impressed and he understood what i implemented said that "but that's very less code". I did not know what to answer next.
He then asked me about Bitwise operators. And then Interview ended.
This was the last round maybe :( ,not sure.
Did not get any rejection mail from the recruiter, but knew that i couldn't clear the interview. I should have been prepared well :(
