Hi all,
It's time to give back to the community. I wanted to share me recent interview experience with google.

I received a call from Google recruiter around December 2021. After few simple screening questions on time complexity and basic DS, she asked me for my availability for further rounds. I asked her 2 months of preparation time which she happily provided.

1st coding round -> 1 question on a slight variation on BFS of LC medium level. I was able to come up with an optimized solution. Although I was missing few corner cases but rectified after interviewer pointed out. Interviewer was very friendly and wanted me to solve problem like a team mate and not an interviewee. Received positive feedback for this round.

2nd coding round -> 1 question on a variation on concept of connected components of LC medium level. I was able to come up with an optimized solution then interviewer slightly modified the problem, was only expecting a discussion around that. Again interviewer was very friendly and actively participated in conversation rather than giving out problem and going silent. Received postive feedback for this round.

3rd coding round -> 1 question on concept of Bitonic array of LC hard level. The interviewer gave a very vague question and expected me to ask clarifying questions. After 20 minutes of discussion, we agreed on what kind of version of the problem could be solved (initial version couldn't be solved in the proposed time complexity, I had to prove it to him). Again interviewer was very polite and friendly and listeneed patiently to what I was saying. Received a positive feedback for this round as well.

4th coding round -> 1 question on shortest path problem concept of LC medium level. Interviewer was very cold in this round, didn't communicate at all, made me very nervous. I came up with an optimised solution using Dijkstra but made silly mistakes like didn't keep a visited array to track all the visited nodes. Received neutral feedback. Interviewer mentioned about the silly mistakes in his feedback.

5th round (Googleyness) -> General discussion on past experience. I was given situations and was asked If I had faced that situation. The interviewer was the chillest of all. Received very strong feedback for this round.

After these round, had a team matching round where your profile is shared with multiple HMs and you both have to agree on each other.

Received offer after a month of this round.

Edit 2 -> The first comment on this post helped me a lot https://leetcode.com/discuss/explore/google/403885/Should-I-know-how-to-implement-min-cut-max-flow-Dijkstra's-and-A*-by-heart . My whole preparation strategy revolved around this only.
