Completed my final interviews with Microsoft for SDE II position.
YOE: almost 2

Interview Exprience and Process

• Applied through Linkedin
• Reached out by the hiring manager (manager for the team applied for.)
• Had chat with the manager.
• Arranged first technical round (phone screen)
• After passing the first technical round. Got invited for the complete interview loop.
• Completed those and waiting for the reply.

Techinal Phone Screen

• Interviewer asked a leetcode easy question, and some behavioural questions.

Interview Loop

First Interview

• Interview started with some behavioural question
• Then followed up with Easy-Medium Leetcode question with few followup questions. Solved the initial question and all of the follow up on my own, except the last one where the interviewer gave a hint and was able to explain the solution after that.

Second Interview

• Same format as above.
• The question was also medium leetcode. Was able to solve the intial question with brute force solution and required a hint from the interviewer for the optimized solution.

Third Interview

• Same format as above.
• The question was hard and taken directly from leetcode (with a minor change). Was not able to solve the question but was able to explain the brute force solution which was not running, and was not able to debug due to lack of time.

Fourth Interview

• This was more of a behavioural with a easy leetcode problem at the end.
• I think I gave a red flag to interviewer
• After exhausting 40min behavioural question conversation and looking at the easy question I got excited and I didn't ask the interview for the algorithm I should go with. I coded the solution based on my assumption.
• The interviewer pointed out the mistake, that I jumped to the solution without discussing.
