Uber | SDE-2 (L4) | India | April | Reject

Had five rounds including online screening.

Online round
Q1 : Similar to merge interval

Q2 : LC hard (do not remember exact question)

Round 1:
Word search - 2 , gave solution quite quickly. Suggested Trie approach for the question. This wasn't needed.

Round 2:
Design parking lot (working code needed) had read a lot about this problem so was able to solve it , just the time constraint held me from completing all functions needed.

Round 3 :
Design FB messenger . Tried level best on basis of what I read about this problem but somehow could not sum it up entirely. In addition to gaps on my end , I blame the current company and the learning it has offered . Even clearing LLD has been a challenge leave apart HLD.

Round 4 :
Behavioral questions

Feedback was that there were gaps in coding rounds which I agree but I got a yes in these rounds and system design round was also not up to the mark which i agree without any objection. System design round was a no I guess.

Key suggestion : It was very easy to clear these questions but a lot depends on which company you currently work in and the amount of learning it offers . Never ever make compromises in terms of that. I believe everyone in software industry should develop a habit to read about the company, work being offered they want to get into. Do not get fooled by what HMs tell in interviews. Although I believe very few companies are there which offer "bad" work in that sense and these are the ones which are high paying surprisingly.

Fun part those who would read this post , i would want you to guess the company I'm in.
