I applied for Software Engineer III Summer 2022 Intern position.

Interview Process:

(Each round is elimination round)

  1. Online Application
  2. Coding Assessment - 6 questions in total: 1 leetcode question (Game Winner - wendy and bob), 1 SQL query, 4 MCQs including questions on JavaScript, Code Ouptut, Debugging etc.
  3. Workstyle Assessment - Set of 100ish behavioral questions (very similar to Amazon's workstyle assessment)
  4. Techincal Assessment + Interview - A homework assignment is given to you 24 hours before your first interview. Two options provided - backend (extended version of Seat Allocation Leetcode question, optimal solution should be provided) and frontend (creating simple webpage using Typicode APIs) - you have to choose one of them (I chose frontend). Interview was scheduled for 45 mins (ran 10 mins over), started with my introduction, why I chose to do this question, why this framework, why not React.js and complete walkthrough of code. Nothing outside the assignment was aksed.
  5. Final Round - With Staff Engineer - interview ran 10 mins over than 45 mins schedule time, started with my introduction, lots of general technical questions:
    1. Given a code to calculate day of the year, I had to give my views on the code structure.
    2. Give an approach to optimize it?
    3. Which data structure would you use for it?
    4. What do you know about Software Testing, and types of Software Testing?
    5. How would you write a test case for the calculate day of the year code above?
    6. How do you handle errors? How would you perform error handling for the calculate day of the year code above?
    7. What do you know about CI/CD pipeline?
    8. System Design: How would you design the curb-side pickup feature on Walmart app (interviewer explained what this was, but I already knew it)? Minimum of how many components would you require? When a customer has 'Checked-in' and is waiting at the parking for his order, a notification to corresponding associates at that specific store location should be fired - where would this routing code go - in which component?
    9. Questions for interviewer

Overall positive experience. Both interviewers were very helpful and friendly.

Communication from company/recruiter: within two days for initial rounds, and took one week to provide decision for final round.

I applied for SWE III Intern, but have been offered SWE Intern position. Don't know how that happened! Location: on-site Dallas, TX

Update: I got SWE III Intern position only, actually the II or III number is only useful if converting to full-time, not relevant for the internship itself.
