I recently finished the onsite for OCI and thought about sharing my experience here.

(Tech Screen)

  • This was 1 hour screening round and it started with some questions about my past experience. Then for the next 40 minutes, I was given a problem to solve. It was a leetcode hard problem. I explained the approach and wrote the complete code and the interviewer gave some hints and was able to run the code successfully.

(Onsite)

There was a 5 hours of onsite scheduled with 2 breaks.

  • Round 1 :
It was a coding round. After the initial behavioral questions, I was given a coding question to solve. It was a leetcode medium (tends toward hard imo). I solved the question but took the complete time, there wasn't any time left for Q&A.

  • Round 2 :
It was a system design round. It started with behavioral questions and then I was given an ambigous statement of "Design xyz system". The interviewer was friendly and asked me a lot of counter questions and helped me at many places.

  • Round 3 :
This was again a coding round. This also had few LP style questions. Post that I was given a coding question (leetcode medium) and it was a simple one and I coded it quickly after explaining my thought process and solution. Then the interviewer added another question to it (again a leetcode medium). I explained my approach and coded that. Then the interviewer asked me some follow up questions about the code. Overall, this round went really went.

  • Round 4:
This was a bar tender round and it was mostly a behavioral round. The interviewer asked me many questions regarding my past experience. At the end, i was given a simple problem to solve.
This round also went really well.

  • Round 5 :
This was the round with the hiring manager. It was mainly about my past project experiences and I was really grilled about anything that I said.

The overall experience was really good and I would like to give few tips if you're appearing for OCI interview :

  • Prepare all the Oracle tagged questions on Leetcode (especially medium & hard).
  • Go through all the popular system design questions (if you don't have any prior design experience)
  • Know your past projects really well. Prepare with all the counter questions.
  • OCI really values its principles and prepare multiple stories about each OCI values.
