Interview Timeline: Jan'22 - Feb'22 (I have mentioned only the approximate dates)

Round 0: Phone Screen (~ 25 Jan'22)-

  • Questions about my current role, and data lakes/warehouse (as my current job requires me to deal with them on a regular basis)
  • 1 Coding Question on Tree: Gave a BFS approach, was further asked to optimize it, I did by removing an inner loop, the interviewer was satisfied with the code and approach

Round 1 and Round 2 were Bar Raisers (had a shadow interviewer throughout the call in both). They focused on LPs mainly and some discussions about my background.

Round 1 (~ 5 Feb) -

  • LP: Tell me about a time when you went above and beyond your job responsibilities
  • 2 Coding Questions:
    • Both DP medium level
  • Thoughts: Had a technical glitch with Chime (my screen sharing stopped for some reason) but I was asked to rejoin and it did not affect my candidature, the interviewers were understanding.

Round 2: (~ 10 Feb'22)

  • No LPs asked in this round, just a bit about my regular work.
  • 2 coding questions:
    • 1 on Graph: gave a DFS approach, could not come up with an optimized approach (DSU) while I was answering, but I told the interviewer at the end of the interviewer about this DSU approach and that I missed it while I was thinking about it, gave a brief explanation on how I would implement it and the interviewer was satisfied.
    • 1 on Sliding Window: Gave the oprtimal solution, interviewer was satisfied with the answer

Round 3 (HM Round): (~ 25 Feb'22)

  • More focus on LPs this time
    • Tell me about a time when you had to make decisions based on very less/no data
    • What if your decision was wrong in the above situation, how would you have handled it?
  • 1 coding question: DP medium-hard, had not seen this question before, but was able to come up with the approach on the spot, the interviewer did not focus a lot on the implementation, just wanted to check my aptitude I believe.
    • The approach I gave was apparrently a bit confusing but luckily the interviewer was smart and was able to understand exactly what I wanted to convey. I guess this round goes to my luck (that finally worked after 1.5 years lol)

Overall experience was nice, although at times I had to wait for many days for feedback and whether I'd be going to the next round or not. But at the end, it was all fine.
A little advice: you don't need to do 500-600 questions on LeetCode to clear an interview, try not to make it your target. Make sure you are able to handle any type of question you come across, that should be one of your end goals and this may require different number of problems for differet people :)
