I had worst experience interviewing at Nvidia. A person who has developed whole new features at application layer in a top reputed MNC but if he doesn't know how malloc function works internally in C, he is not suitable for Nvidia. That guy strictly mentioned not to use any keyword from C++ . I was trying to explain things and accidently said 'new' keyword from C++ which is alternate to malloc in C. That guy immediately stopped me and said, do I know C? Hadn't the interview been virtual, I was gonna murder that interviewer. He gave me 20 mins lecture on pointer. Basics is Okay but that guy literally asked me how pointer is coded in Assembly launaguage. Oh Man. I never want to recall the microcontroller and microprocessor concepts I had in my 5th Sem. To escape from this situation, I said I work in Java and there is no concept of pointer there. He be like, then there is no point in studying CS. I was so frustrated that I said I am done and the interview was over in 45 minutes and then cancelled 2nd round myself and asked the recruiter to train the interviewer first. I was not actively looking for change but I had Nvidia in my wishlist once, I appeared and still regret it. One callout to all people specially who has already some YOE and will be interviewing at Nvidia in future, think thrice and ask yourself, do you really want to get into Nvidia and work on assembly language?
