I recently interviewed at Goldman Sachs.
Round 1:- Hackerrank(1 hr)
1. Traveler Fund
2. Birthday Party and return gift.
Not posting the questions details as they can be found on leetcode discuss section.
Round 2:- CoderPad(1 hr)
In this round I was expecting some DSA question but instead I got a debugging question where I needed to find bugs in the implementation of a string related algorithm in C++ language(as this role was for C++ developer).
I was able to find all the bugs and get the correct output for all the testcases before the 1 hour mark, so the interviewer asked few general question related to C++.
Round 3:- Technical(1 hr)
- Design a data structure which supports push,pop and getMax in most efficient time. Was able to solve optimally.
- This was an open ended design question which used concepts like multithreading, queues, synchronization(sem and mutex).
Round 4:- Technical(1 hr)
By far the worst interviewer I have ever faced. He just spoke out the question without any examples. I tried to understand the question by asking few clarifying questions which seemed to irrititate him and he started speaking rudely with me. After few minutes of asking questions I finally understood what the question was asking , it required a recursive approach which then can be solved optimally using DP.
After 5 minutes of this last interview, I received a rejection email. Thanks for wasting 4 hours of my life GS!!
