Online assesment
- Was given two questions to be solved in 1:30 min or so, were easy to medium level questions.
- Took me like 45min to solve the questions.
Got positive feedback from the Hr within one week, and the next rounds were scheduled after 10 days.
I was told there were two intial technical rounds if I clear those then third round and if I clear those then I will have a managerial round. All these would be done on the same day.
First round:
- First question was simple medium binary tree travesal
- Second question was a easy level String manipulation one.
Solved these easily.
Second round:
- Was asked to compare two experssion trees. The interviewer was very friendly and helped me but, I could not complete even explaining the approach by the time we reached the time limit.
The Hr called me and said that i will have a third round in the after noon
Third round:
- Was given a question on infinite 2-D matrix series of 1's and 0's with a repeating pattern, I was to return the resultant matrix for a given row and column lengths. I was trying something and the interviewer changed the question to find the value at a given row and column instead of the whole matrix, this throw me off my thought process and i couldn't solve the problem, after 30-40min he asked me to move on to next questions.
- Next question was pair wise reversal of a linked list, I wrote the code in 5-10min
- Next question was a simple string comparison question, I wrote the code for this as well in 5-10min
After a while the HR called and said that I was reject because of "No Hire" in second and third rounds.
Take aways for me:
- Continue practicing
- Don't get tensed just because you see a new question, try to solve it and the interviewer usually helps.
