Position: Front-End Engineer at Klarna / Senior
Location: Berlin, Germany

Interview duration: from phone screen to offer: 2.5 months.

Interview stages:

1. Phone Screen (30 mins)
2. Coding challenge at Qualified platform (3 tasks). (Solved all three tasks and showed a great thinking process, I believe)
3. Interviews:

• Leadership Principles Interview (1 hour) (I think I have done well here and later received a positive feedback, in their own words, from "a guy, who rarely gives positive feedbacks")
• Technical Skills Interview including live coding challenge (1 hour 15 minutes) (here I did well overall, however, at the live coding session I could not finilize my solution due to time limitation, even tho I have received a really positive feedback for the approach that I have taken).

4. Feedback round (30 mins), got told the estimated amount they will offer after another round of interviews (Here I expressed my desire to get a better deal, where I was assured that it can be reevaluated after the system design interview and team fit interview. The offer they told me I would get at this stage was 61.5k EUR).
5. Logic Test (15 minutes)
6. System Design Interview (1 hour 30 minutes) (Did well here, the interviewer gave a "SRONG GO", as I have been told at the feedback round later)
7. Team Fit Interview (45 minutes) (I had my doubts over the team setup, but they clearly liked me and we had a good positive discussion)
8. Feedback Round (30 minutes) and final offer draft presented (The final offer was disappoiting, which I expressed with a desire to negotiatie, however, have been told that due to flat hierarchy that is not possible).
9. Logic Test Required for the final offer to be passed

Result: An offer has been received after such an exhausting series of interviews, some of the rounds like logic test at every other stage, honestly, does not make any sense to me. However, it is what it is. In the compensation section I have shared that the offer is ±63.5k EUR, which is, to be honest, way lower than my expectations are. I am taking my time to contemplate it, however, decide for yourself if you are ready to waste such a huge amount of time with Klarna.
