I applied for SDE-1 position at Oracle. I think it was a virtual drive because there were total 10 candidates including me in that call. Process was as below -

Online Assessment
It was a 90 minute long MCQ test containing 4 sections -

  1. Aptitude
  2. Verbal
  3. SQL
  4. Programming (OOPs)

~20 questions in each section, and each section was having its own time boundation. Attempted all the questions and got a call from the recruiter for the further process and an invitation to the virtual drive.

Round 1
It went for ~70 minutes, implementation round rather than problem solving I would say. He asked me to implement BST with the data he provided in C++ or Java and the some follow up questions on implementing various other methods on the BST and time complexities. Discussion went on for around 50 minutes, it was a good discussion.

Then, he asked me some questions based on my current company and what kind of work I do here. Then asked me two simple puzzles i.e.

  1. Fill 4L Jug with a 5L and 3L Jug
  2. Give a set of 90 coins all of same weight except one, find the one with the different weight in min number of tries

Round 2
After waiting for 3 hours they informed me that they are moving forward with my profile, and took this interview on the same day. Questions were mostly related to my projects mentioned in the resume and my tech stack. Then some medium questions from Leetcode. It went for ~40 minutes and then he concluded the call.

They asked me to wait for a couple of days and recruiter will update me for further process, but I haven't got an update till today so I am assuming rejection it was. Anyways, keep coding, keep moving :)
