Screening Round : Telephonic

  • 2 LC Medium questions with a slight modification in the 2nd question.
  • PS : The Interviewer was super cool and we had a great discussion around various approaches, Data Structures etc.
  • Result : Passed for Virtual Onsite. Got the result the very next day.

Virtual Onsite : 4 weeks later

1. Round 1 (Product Design)  - 45 min
	* The question was to design one of the Internal feature with multiple use-cases.
	* Spent around ~10-15 min of time gathering requirements and estimations. The problem statement was very vague and I had to ask lot of follow up questions to get the clarity.
	* Fast-forward, was able to cover only the High Level Design, APIs, Algorithms and Failure Handling in ~25 min. But missed many optimizations and felt that I screwed it up pretty badly.
  * Result : Hire, Feedback clearly highlighted that I asked lot of clarifying questions to deal with ambiguity and was able to cover many aspects of design in detail. (I know, Interviews are unpredictable :P)
2. Round 2 Coding and Problem Solving - 45 min
	* 2 medium complexity questions
 * Result : Hire - Feedback : This went well.
3. Round 4 Coding and Problem Solving - 45 min
	* 1 medium & 1 hard question
	* For Q2, Interviewer was expecting a different approach. We ended up discussing 10 min on this and interviewer finally asked to write the code for simplified version rather than the initial problem.
 * Feedback : Boom :P - Not up to the E5 bar
4. Round 4 - Behavioral
   * Standard questions regarding work experience, leadership, conflicts etc.

It took exactly 2 weeks post virtual on-site to get the result/feedback.

Was informed to re-apply again after 1 year.

Conclusion : Overall, This was a great experience with well orchestrated process starting with the recruiter call, all the way to on-site, the fb folks were really nice and supercool.

Cheers, Good Luck with your Interviews!
