Hello,
I've got 8.5 years of experience as software engineer (with master's degree in computer science) and with absolutely no lead experience.
I did a first quick HR phone call with Square (15min) which led to a 45min phone call with the hiring manager where I got rejected.
I believe mostly because of behaviorals / experiences because the technical/theorical questions that I was asked were pretty easy.
(the theorical/technical ones were about SOLID, Dependency injection, tdd, pair programming, how to find / solve performance issues on sql db?, on web api code side?)
(the behavioral were like: how did you solve the last conflict regarding a design? how do you handle pm/business impossible deadlines?)
Also I am now a bit scared (it's the first time I applied to a tech company since I started leetcode), is there any chance to get a Senior level offer with no technical lead experience in top companies?
Because non senior job would probably not offer a compensation good enough to be worth moving.
But for now, I am still focused on leetcoding + have already a few new interviews planned (phone calls with bloomberg and tesla, hope I will be able to do some code this time :D), still for training purpose
