Oracle interview rounds

Round 1(MCQ test):-
Duration: 2 hours

  1. The whole test was divided into four sections - Contextual Communication, Coding Skills, Computer Science Knowledge and Software Engineering Aptitutude.
  2. Each section was divided into five - six sub sections. Each section was about 30 minutes long on average.
  3. Contextual Communication comprises of Unseen Comprehension, English Grammar, Antonyms and Synonyms type of questions. (Class 12 English)
  4. Coding Skills comprises of Questions on AVL trees, Red Black Trees, OOPS and Trees.
  5. Computer Science Knowledge comprises of Questions on DBMS, Computer Networks and Computer Architecture.
  6. Software Engineering Aptitude comprises of Questions on Math Reasoning, Data Analysis and Critical Thinking, Persistance and Attention to detail, Programming Ability and Logical Thinking.

Round 2 (DSA based round):-
Duration: 1 hour

  1. Basic question on my project
  2. Remove all duplicate pairs in an array using linked list. Was asked for Optimisation.

Round 3 (DSA based round):-
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

  1. What do you mean by data structures ?
  2. Questions on managing databases and what kind of data structure would you use ?
  3. Coding question on how to print vertical order traversal of the binary tree - https://leetcode.com/problems/vertical-order-traversal-of-a-binary-tree/
  4. Questions on projects and internships
  5. Puzzle :- Given three boxes which are mislabelled as red, white and red-white. What is the minimum number of balls that you should take out of the three boxes in total, so that you can correct all the labels ?
  6. How to implement AVL trees in C++ ? (Logic only)
  7. Coding question to check whether a string is a valid paranthesis string or not ?

Round 4:- ( HR ROUND)
Duration: 30 minutes

  1. Tell me about yourself, positive points, negative points
  2. Project discussion - explanation, technology used and other team work related questions
  3. Personal questions on life goals and extra curricular activities
  4. Any Questions I have for him?

Result: Selected and got an offer
