Total 6 rounds including one Karat interview
Round 1 (Karat) - This round is taken by third party where interviewers are not from Compass. They provide a detailed feedback to Compass.
Question set 1) You will be given certain topics to select from. You will be asked number of subjective questions from those selected topics.
For example - design,OOPS, production deployment issues etc
Question set 2) DS and Algo question. You need not provide an optimal solutions to both the problem. Even solving one fully and one partially will result in your favour. But necessarily a working code which can pass all the test cases provided by the interviewer
a. HashMap and Grid based question b. Graph question
Round 2- DSA and Coding round by Compass interviewer
Simple Graph based question and a follow up on that. Interviewe is looking for optimal solution here.
Round 3-- Problem solving
Had given a problem statement and three apis to implement, could be solved using maps and heaps DS
Round 4 -- Hiring Manager (HM)
Questions on challenging tech projects, Generic LP, Why Compass etc.
Round 5 -- System Design
One of the best interviewer i had come across. He clearly set out the expectation at the start what he is looking out from this interview and why he does not want me to fail this interview. We had a brain storming discussion on HLD.
Round 6 -- HR
Typical HR round. He seemed a bit arrogant from start, felt like bully actually. didn't like the interview or interviewer.
The result was rejection. I had a feeling that something went wrong in HM and HR rounds. Focus on HM and HR, even if you do good in coding/DS rounds there are very high chances that you can be rejected in HM or HR rounds.
