I (2 YOE), recently interviewed for Amazon SDE1, Seattle location. The LeetCode community helped me prepare so, it's time for me to do my bit. I will not be sharing the entire questions as I have signed the NDA. The entire process took me 3 weeks. (OA + Phone + Onsite)

I dont remember the exact behavioral questions (as a lot of questions were asked thrughout the process). At the end I will list down the LPs pertinent to the questions asked to me.

OA

2 Questions. For each question I had to explain my approach.

  1. Easy Heap question. Similar to this- Maximum Units
  2. Graph Traverse. Similar to this- Number of islands

The next day I received a mail regarding scheduling a phone interview with one of the members of the team.

Phone Interview

It was a 1 hour long interview. I was asked 3 behavioral questions and 1 Coding question.

  • I was asked to implement something similar to this Word Ladder

2 Days after the phone interview I got a mail from the recruiter asking for dates to schedue a virtual onsite. 1 week before the onsite round, a call will be set with the recruiter who will give you some insights regarding how to approach the onsite interviews and what type of questions to expect.

Onsite

Here, one can expect a total of 5 rounds.

1. Round1

  1. Duration- 1 hour
  2. Type- 2/3 behavioral + 1 Coding (Algorithm)

2. Round2

  1. Duration- 1 hour

  2. Type- 2/3 behavioral + 1 Coding (OOPS Design)
    * Design a Shared Drive System. (e.g; Google Drive)

3. Round3

  1. Duration- 1 hour
  2. Type- 2/3 behavioral + 1 Coding

4. Round4

  1. Duration- 1 hour
  2. Type- Completely Behavioral. No coding or techincal questions were asked in this round.

5. Round5

  1. Duration- 45 Minutes
  2. Type- 2/3 behavioral + 1 Coding
    * Pacific Atlantic Water Flow

LPs-

The behavioral questions asked to me during the interviews were mostly related to these LPs. (To the best of my knowledge)

  6. Dive Deep
