July 2021 : A recruiter approached through LinkedIn chat, and requested for time to discuss about the opening and asked to share the resume. I responded over LinkedIn itself, and she called back within 2 hours. The day was a Tuesday.
She and one more person explained in detail about the role and responsibilities etc.
I requested for 1-2 weeks time to prepare for interview. But, they insisted that they are having a big recruiting drive on the current week's Friday itself and insisted a lot on attending the telephonic screening round over some tool. She also said that if I clear the telephonic interview, then the very next day i.e. on Saturday - I would be attending 4-5 rounds of full loop.
After thinking a bit, I decided to give it a shot, and they duly sent an interview invite for the coming Friday for morning 10:00-11:00 am.
I connected at sharp 09:55 and kept on waiting till 10:20 - no trace of any interviewer.
I called up the lady who had contacted me. She said sorry etc and said that she would get back to me within 2 hours.
Did not hear back again. I dropped an email after 2 days politely asking about the status - no reply.
Called her - call not picked up.
Then, I almost forgot about this.
Fast forward to September 2021 : One evening, the same lady called me.
I bluntly questioned her about the incident of ghosting around in July. She simply tried to dismiss it off saying - maybe I forgot about it.
I then asked her - what about my email. She again tried to beat around the bush.
Then I sternly said - If this is how you treat candidates, then Thanks but No Thanks - I am not interested in your company.
