I had my Amazon onsite last week and no updates from the recruiter yet.
Background: YOE 2-3, master degree in data science, currently unemployed.
1R: Bar raiser, 30 min of LP went well, 25 min of SD questions was fine (he started saying "Sounds good! That's nice!" for a few times for the last 10 min). Very nice and friendly interviewer.
2R: 40 min of LP was fine but he interrupted me several times for digging into more details. 15 min left for technical part, a LC Medium question. We discussed the approach but he pointed out that I misunderstood the question. I asked him for more examples on inputs and outputs then I propose another approach, he said it sounds good and asked me to code it out. I just started coding for like 2 min then he stopped me as there's no more time. Professional interviewer, poker face sometimes.
3R: 30 min of LP went well, he said he liked my stories and how I did. OOD question, not good enough as I needed some hints to start. Not enough time to complete whole thing and he asked me what I would do to improve the current code. Very nice interviewer.
4R: Hiring manager, 35-40 min of LP and he mentioned he really liked my stories. 40 min technical because he said we could overrun and he wanted to see I code everything out. I wasted first 20 min on a brute force approach, but then I proposed a "shortcut" solution that surprised him, he said he didn't think of that before and glad to give me extra time to complete it as he learned something as well. We spent last 5-10 min on some QnAs. Very very nice and professional!
I feel like the BR and HM round went well but I didn't do good enough in the coding rounds :(
Please rate my chance!
