Online Test

• Duration - 2 hours, Question - 1
• An API was given which would provide Employee data, Write a program which fetches the data from the API and then based on different kinds of input provides a filtered result

Screening Round - 1 hour

• Basic questions about current work and what kind of infrastructre was being used and what all kinds of problem statements I was working on.
• Database design for a Chat Messenger
• A puzzle was asked and had to come with solution and also suggest what DS could be used to solved(I used Directed Graph).

One Day - 3 Rounds (back to back)

Round #1 - DS Algo - 1 hour

• Given an unsorted array, return the inversion count
  • I came up with the correct approach but got confused while manipulating indices
• Took most of the time in the 1st question that no time was left for 2nd question

Round #2 - Design Round - 1 hour

• Design a Order Management System similar to Flipkart/Amazon
  • Followed the standard steps to come up with the solution
    • Gathered functional and non-functional requirements
    • Discussed the Data Model in details
    • Listed down different modules of the HLD
    • Deep dived into each module and explained how it will work, scale and be fault tolerant
    • Interviewer was also interested to know about how system's monitoring will be done

Round #3 - Techinal Round - 1 hour

• Talked about my current work's architecture
• Asked questions about DB concepts like ACID properties and in a bit detail about each one of them
• Asked pros and cons of in-memory cache vs external cache store
• Asked to do a LLD of Book My Show
  • Defined all the classes
  • Defined all the relations between them
  • Discussed how it will be scaled, what DB will be used, what sharding technique will be used and few other design discussion

HM Round - 1 hour

• Discussed current roles and responsibilities
• Deep Dived discussion about current work's architecture, QPS, scaling and fault tolerance
• Discussion about the various tools and techniques used for system monitoring to maintain SLAs.
• Talked about what kind of Agile development process is followed and what is the code review process.
• Few other behaviorial questions

Repeat Round - DS Algo (Since messed up the first one)

• Problem exactly similar to https://leetcode.com/problems/house-robber/
• Gave a small Election Result problem and asked to design classes and API URIs.

P.S. They are very much concerned about the monitoring system and SLAs and will surely ask you how maintain those in your current work.

Got selected and then had an half-an-hour discussion with the head HR about few general professional questions after which the offer was rolled out.
