Education and work experience:
I was recently interviewed by Junglee Games for SDE II - Backend position.
Interview experience:
Round 1: It was a hackerrank round where I had to solve 3 very standard problems (DP, Two Pointer) in 90 minutes. And there were 10 MCQs related to core CS subjects.
Round 2: Interview with an SDE II. He asked my several projects related questions and the technologies I have worked on. As I had previously worked in AWS and Spark so a lot of questions came from these areas. He even asked about Cassandra and Kafka. In the end he asked me to solve two problems.
1. Remove duplicates from linked list (in one traversal).
2. Given an integer n, print all binaries of integers between 1 and n. But you can't use any bitwise operator.
Round 3: Interview with an SDE III. This interviewer didn't ask me a single DS algo question. It was entirely a technical round. A lot of discussion on the projects. An in depth discussion on core Java (Multithreading, Inheritence, Collections). One needs to have very good understanding on core Java to clear this round. He also asked me questions from AWS, Redis, Kafka etc.
Round 4: This round was taken by the VP of Engineering. He gave me a design problem of e-commerece and asked me what data strurcures I want to use, how can I make it scalable, how will I handle the concurrency. A lot of discussion took place around it. After this he asked me some very conceptual core Java questions.
After this round HR called and said I am selected. They offered me the following compensation,
I had an another competitive offer from a Unicorn startup as well.
