coding interview question: "how do you do batch processing? There are millions of requests coming in batches from different servers and how do you distribute the requests." Checked if this is map-reduce problem, the interviewer said no. Asked the interview, how to distinguish a message in a batch. He asked me back what the criteria, i would use. I gave him serveral options. This lead to a discussion. Didn't feel like I am doing a coding interview/challenge. Appreciate for comments on how to address this question.
The interviewer was sitting in the backyard with all the noise, didn't feel he has any seriousnous in doing the interview. Felt like Google is not looking to hire.
