Amazon | SDE1 | Hyderabad | April 2021 [Offer]

Status: 9 months experience
Position: SDE1 at Amazon
Location: Hyderabad

A bit of introduction - I am a 2020 graduate in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I started to code or fairly speaking to learn Data Structures and Algorithms in the middle of my final year and leetcode being the prominent part of this journey. I am thankful to the whole leetcode Community and all the amazing people here.

Interview Schedule -

  1. Online Assessment
  2. 4 virtual onsites , first 2 non - elimination and 3rd and 4th are eliminations.

Online Assessment -
Two Coding Questions -

  1. Sorting on basis of customised comparator
  2. A BFS based Questions.

1st Virtual Onsite(1 hr) -

  1. A brief Introduction and few behavioural questions.
  2. A problem based on binary tree heat conduction
  3. Link list based problem

Able to solve both the problems with production level code covering all the edges cases

2nd Virtual Onsite(1 hr) -

  1. A brief Introduction and few behavioural questions.
  2. A Sorting problem based on heap.
  3. A class implementation problem

First problem done easily and write down the code.
For second problem, A deep discussion for optimising various class operations.
Able to optimise all the operations.

3rd Virtual Onsite(1 hr) -

  1. Project Discussion(40 mins)
  2. Design based problem(Only Discussion)

4th Round (Barraiser) -

  1. A recursion + Backtracking based problem
  2. A string matching problem

Some leadership and behavioural problems.

After 3-4 days of final round got a call from recruiter for selection.

LeetCode Breakout - 376 (E - 136, M - 209, H - 31)

Preparation Strategy -

  1. Prepared for around 1.5 years

  2. Major Resources -
    GFG, DS & Algo Lectures by Abdul Bari, youtube Channels

  3. Problem Solving -
    Majorly Leetcode with focus on medium and hard problems

Time Frame for the whole process

  1. Applying constantly for last 5-6 months so not sure which job applications works.
  2. Got Online Assessment on 25th feb 2021
  3. Result After 20 days of Assessment
  4. Final Result in April (Second Half).
