Status: A backend developer with 2+ years of experience in a service based company.

Round 1: (Online coding)

• Conducted in Hackerrank
• Duration: 1.5 hrs
• Question 1: Some array based questions.
• Question 2: A tree based question where a given string should be validated as valid binary tree or not and there were some special error conditions which also has to be printed in case if it is not a valid binary tree. For example (A(BC)) a valid binary tree while (A(BCD)) is not because there should not be 3 children for a parent.

Sorry I dont remember the exact details of the coding round.

After 2 days, I got call for the interview.

Round 2: (Machine coding round)

• Duration: 3 hrs
• This round is basically solving a real world design problem. The question given to me was to design a calendar application which schedules meetings and displays different user's calendars and can accept/ reject a meeting. It is like designing a google meet calendar.
• An interviewer was available. He was so helpful and he even extended the duration as this round was blocked only for an hr.
• At the end of 2 hrs, I could not complete all the 7 requirements given but he looked more into my design and also asked my design for the remaining requirements that I could not complete. We had a good discussion on various extra requirements and it went on for like 1 hr.
• The code should be working at the end without any errors.
• I had the next round on the same day.

Round 3: (Data structures and algorithms)

• Duration : 1 hr
• 3 questions. The approach, time & space complexity, optimisation if any were all discussed. I solved only 2 of them but still was selected to the next one.

Round 4: (Hiring Manager round) :

• Duration: 1 hr
• He asked about my project details and few discussions around it. He asked few questions on my technical skills that I have mentioned on my resume & also the best practices and few behavioural questions.
• It was more like a conversation more than an interview.

After this , I had a call with the HR. I wont consider it as another round but discussed package and other benefits and few questions. HR had been so helpful throughout the process. He kept me well informed about my feedback in each rounds which was helpful.

General Thoughts:

• The interviewers & HR team were so friendly and the interviews are well organised.
• Writing clean code was expected like relevant naming variables, resuability etc.
• The project details & technologies mentioned in resume were asked in bit of detail.
