Interview process

OA

• Was asked two questions in 105 minutes
  • Q1: similar to this LC question
  • Q2: identical to this one

Thoughts

My notes:

Q1:

• (+)Passed all TCs for Q1.
• (-)Did submit a few times e.g missed TCs which should have been checked before submitting because it was mentioned in the Q. e.g should sort the output
• (+) finished problem relatively quickly I think atleast less than 60 mins for sure. Note it is an easy question and had solved similar Q so not a surprise here. :-)

Q2:

• (+)Got two TCs passing and all three sample cases passing locally.
• (-)But could not figure out runtime error for 1+ hour.

Big O:

• felt a bit shaky with Big O. I mean I am confident it is correct but initially felt shaky with no LC post to tell me I am right(cruch).
• So Big O is an unknown.

Result

OA

• I am assuming it is a reject because
  • the recruiter mentioned he will get back within 2 days and 2 days have passed.
  • for other people (one example, they hear back within minutes/ hours
    Quoting "Only minutes after sending the assessment for review, I was invited to the 4-hour on-site interview with an additional two weeks to prepare"
  • Of course, in the rare case I hear back I will update this post.

Tips

• Do the sample assessment on HackerRank in advance.
  • Complete both questions diligently.
  • In fact, if needed, like me, retake the assessment.
  • you will need to login with separate email id
• Solve LC Amazon tagged questions or solve weak topic related questions in general.
