Just had my Onsite loop Yesterday with Google for L5 SRE position. Here to know what could I probably expect. I know it differs by case but I am looking for a general advise on outcome if interviews went as follows.....
- Coding Round-1:
Question was pretty Vague on Graph evaluation of expression and no example input output provided by the interviewer. tried my best to discuss the approach and write the code but ran out of time. this is the worst interview through out my day... My rating for this would be a Leaning No Hire to No hire. - Coding Round-2:
Everything was smooth here, Graph based DFS question. never seen anywhere but was able to do memoization and complete the code as expected. Interviewer was super nice and helpful... My Rating: Leaning Hire, Hire or Strong Hire - Design Round:
Outstanding round according to me. Interviewer seems super impressed. and said I covered all bases...its a question related to DB migration of live users from NoSQL to SQL and should be transparent to users. No Performance impact is acceptable .. Discussed all trade offs and interviewer asked me summarize my steps and was positive by End of Interview.
My Rating: Strong Hire... - Behavioral/Googleyness: Standard Behavioral Questions & was able to answer them but some of them that I don't have experience I just said I don't have experience in such scenarios and interviewer was fine on that too...My Rating: leaning hire to hire.
- Coding Round-3: Another Graph based question on calculating probability of performing a DFS on a graph where each node has some probability.and returning a probability of success vs failure .. this question took some time for me to understand and was able to code in the end...interviewer seems to be satisfied....not sure though..My Rating: leaning Hire to hire.
I am super anxious as this is my first time @ Google and what could be the outcome...looking forward for next week to listen from recruiters.But if anyone had experience of L5 Interviews @ Google..Please share your views on what can I expect.
