Background: B.Tech ECE\nWork Experience: 1.5+ years as Software Engineer in Service based company\nPosition: SE-2 Microsoft\nLocation: Bangalore, India\nInterview Period: Mar 2021\n\n\nGot the call via referrals for SE-2 role. Had 3 Tech Rounds and all the 3 interviews(1hr each)  were conducted on the same day. All the interviews started with my introduction, day to day work I do in the current company and brief discussion on my projects.\n\n**Interview Process:**\n\n**Round 1: DS & Algo Round - Mar 2021 (1 hour)**\n\n- [Largest Number](https://leetcode.com/problems/largest-number/)\n- [Combinations](https://leetcode.com/problems/combinations/)\n\nThe interviewer was very friendly and the interview went like a discussion. I was asked to explain each and every line of the code and estimate the time complexity.\n\nOverall experience was good but as the interviews were virtual, writing the test cases and showing a dry run ate up some time as I used to practice on whiteboard.\n\n**Round 2: Tech Round (1 hour)**\n\n- Project discussion and some basic system design questions - load balancing, imporving performance of REST APIs, scaling and distributing servers. - (35 mins)\n- [Time based key-value store](https://leetcode.com/problems/time-based-key-value-store/)\n\nWas able to mange the system design questions to some extent and was able to explain the coding questions using modified Binary Search. The interviewer was satisfied with my approach for the coding question.\n\n**Round 3: Hiring Manager Round (1 hour)**\n\n* This round started with the manager\'s intro, the kind of person he\'s looking for the role and what responsibilites he/she is expected to deliver once selected for the role, my introduction and deep discussion on my projects - (40 mins)\n\n* Later we moved to the System Design part. He explained a scenario and I was asked to come up with a solution and design for the problem.\n\nOverall, I was not able to reach the mark as I\'m lacking expereince in Systems Design and wasn\'t able to come up with a solid design solution for the problem.
